When we look at the historical role of the Sacred Sexual Priestess of Love, dedicated as embodiment of the Goddess in daily life, what feeling, what resonance does that give us?

How would we even begin to actually BE that, live that, walk that Priestess Path truthfully? Pretty daunting, yet also enticing, right?

The first step on the way to awaken the Priestess Archetype within your daily existence, is to infuse your routine with sacred rituals, dedicated to the Goddess of your heart.

This can be any form of the Feminine Deity that calls to you, or resonates with you at this stage of your life. Often the age, and therefore archetype we are actively living, informs the connection we have to the various Goddesses who hold the mirror for that Archetypal energy.

Remember though, Goddess has many faces, many forms, and She does not require us to be connected to only one of these, or to choose one above another. She is fine with many faces of the Divine having space in our devotional practices.

For me She is of course Rhiannon, though I am also dedicates as priestess to other Goddesses of Europe. The day feels different when I take the time (and this does actually not take very long) to connect actively to Rhiannon, and to open myself to Her Radiance.

After all, I believe that as Priestesses of Rhiannon, we have a serious commitment to walk Her Path of Love, consciously, wholeheartedly and ‘in action’: ‘to BE Her Presence in the world’ as we say in one of our dedications.

Because like everyone else, I sometimes need reminding of the importance of my connection to Her, I also like to place my awareness, my love and joy, my worries, fears and whatever else my heart may be holding, at the feet of Goddess in a simple daily offering practice at my Rhiannon altar, usually while lighting insence.

You may already be a dedicated priestess, and have your own daily devotional connection to a Goddess, or be following ritual practices of the Goddess that work for you. In that case, renewing the energy with which you make your offerings or do your practices is important to keep the connection alive.

But what if you’re not sure which Goddess to work with?

Connecting to the Goddess of our heart is a delicious journey of discovery that requires introspection and deep, honest listening to your innermost desires and values.

It is essential to take the time to cultivate a relationship with your own intuition, trusting in our own inner guidance to lead you to the Goddess that resonates most deeply with your authentic self, and to whom you may have a soul connection spanning many lifetimes. No one else can do that for you, though you may find ‘way-showers’, to point you in the right direction.

Pay attention to signs and synchronicities that will alert you to the presence of the Divine Feminine you seek; She is everywhere!

Many Goddesses are associated with different animals, colours, seasons or emotions, and these may speak to you, though in truth, She is so much more than just those forms we attribute to Her. Time in nature, to open to Her presence can be essential, but She really can be found anywhere, as long as we have to willingness to ‘see’ and ‘hear’ Her.

In the everyday, your connection can be fostered through meditation and simple daily rituals, such as making a small altar or shine space to the Goddess of your heart in your home, even if you are not yet sure who She may be precisely. Start with the elements as Her presence.

Try lighting a candle or placing fresh flowers upon this sacred space, as an offering to the Divine Feminine in general or to a specific Goddess, singing praises or doing a visualisation meditation in front of this altar to Her.

By honouring and nurturing the sacred connection you innately have to Goddess, you can tap into your own power, creativity, and intuition, which will allow the Goddess of your heart to guide you on the spiritual journey towards wholeness and empowerment.

Allow the freedom of your heart and of your life force, to help you navigate your path with grace, into a profound understanding of the beauty that surrounds you, and resides within, as Her Sacred Presence.

Embracing the priestess archetype empowers us to forge a life filled with love, sensuality, and a deep sense of purpose that resonates with the very core of our being, because it is connected in a real, in-the-body way to the living presence of the Divine Feminine.

Of course this principle and intention is very much at the core of the Priestess of Rhiannon training, held in person in Glastonbury / Avalon now for over 15 years, and in other lands of Europa by the Path of Love Mystery School.
